MOT Tester

Job Overview:

MEM Northampton is seeking skilled MOT Testers to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background and be proficient in using hand tools and power tools.

The main duties will be;

• Carry out general servicing of vehicles and the MOT testing
• Diagnose problems on vehicles in the workshop and if needed; undertake electrical diagnosis on vehicles as and when required
• Undertake road and ramp testing and inspection as and when required
• Carry out all repairs in line with approved methods to restore the vehicle to its original condition
• Ascertain job requirements from the job card/estimate and record all time taken against the repair
• Ensure that all documentation is accurately completed and that all Company procedures are followed
• Assist with general workshop loading as and when required

Job Requirements:

• Minimum 1 year of previous experience in a similar role as a Vehicle Technician /Mechanical Inspector
• Qualified MOT Tester (essential)
• Qualified to City and Guilds or NVQ Level 3 (essential)

Additional Information:

• Full valid UK driving licence with the ability to drive automatic and manual cars (essential)
• For the insurance purpose you need to be over 21 years old and hold a driving licence for minimum 2 years (essential)
• You must own your own tools / basic start
